Burstiness is like the best moments in improv jazz. Someone plays a note, someone else jumps in with a harmony, and pretty soon, you have a collective sound that no one planned. Most groups never get to that point, but you know burstiness when you see it.

what is “bursty”?
You’ve likely experienced being so immersed in something that time flies by, and your mind focuses completely on the activity. Whether you call it flow or “being in the zone,” it’s that sweet spot where we’re fully engaged and performing at our best.
Now, imagine experiencing that as a team. That’s bursty.
Our mission is to help teams become more bursty—building stronger connections, fostering high trust, and creating environments of psychological safety.
Through keynote talks, workshops, and coaching, bursty helps people develop the essential human skills needed for meaningful connection and collaborative success.

The idea for bursty was sparked by an energizing feeling I experienced while working in teams with a shared purpose and a playful, creative approach to problem-solving. I wanted to feel that spark more often and share it with others.
Growing up in a family of professional musicians, the stage was our workplace. I learned to embrace creative expression, get comfortable with performance, and recognize the importance of connection in creating beautiful music together.
Though my family expected me to follow the path of a classical pianist, my passion was always in learning and making connections between ideas. My journey led me from being a classroom teacher to developing programs in the nonprofit sector and then into the world of big tech. In every space, my focus has been on helping others build the skills needed for the future of work. Through bursty, I bring my background in STEM education, technology, organizational psychology, and emotional intelligence to the leaders I support.
I’m driven by a love for learning, and sharing that enthusiasm with others. My Master’s degree in Critical and Creative Thinking even inspired my TED-Ed talk, “The Key to Work is Play” - and you’ll find bursty’s themes woven throughout. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you’ll explore what it means to be bursty in your life!

Flow is important both because it makes the present instant more enjoyable, and because it builds the self-confidence that allows us to develop skills and make significant contributions to humankind.
